Questions about Class XI admission come in three kinds, and the answers live in three places. First, the process — when to apply, how, and what you need. Second, colleges in general — where to study, and which ones your GPA reaches. Third, one particular college — how many seats it has and whether it sets an entrance test.

One thing worth saying up front: dates and figures appear on this site only where there is a source for them. Where no official announcement has been made yet, the page says so rather than filling the gap with a guess.

The 2026-27 admission policy was published on 24 August 2026, and applications open on 2 September 2026. A warning: many websites are still republishing last year's (2025-26) schedule as "2026-27" with only the year changed — those pages show applications opening in July, which is wrong for this cycle. Check the original notice on xiclassadmission.gov.bd before you apply.

Frequently asked questions
There is no entrance test in the central system — selection is on the SSC or equivalent result and your preference order. A few institutions, though, run their own tests under a court direction: Notre Dame College, Holy Cross College and St. Joseph among them.
Last session the range was a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10. Shift, version and group count as separate choices, so listing two shifts of one college spends two slots.
The selection is cancelled. If you do not confirm within the window after the result, your seat is released and you have to apply afresh in the next phase. It is the step people most often get wrong.
At the very top colleges it is hard, but "a good college" is not only Dhaka’s top ten. Government colleges in your own area and strong private institutions have seats, and your HSC result depends on the next two years of work rather than on your SSC score.
According to the education board, every institution in the country must complete Class XI admission by 22 September 2026.
