The first difficulty students hit when applying in Barishal is not a rule — it is a name. The city has several government colleges whose names sound close to one another, and adding the wrong institution to a list while searching the portal is genuinely common here.
The second reality is geography. A large part of Barishal district is river-bound — a daily commute from upazilas like Hijla, Muladi or Mehendiganj is not realistic. So the choice of college here usually has to be made together with the decision about where you will live, not separately from it.

A warning: many websites are still republishing last year's (2025-26) schedule as "2026-27" with only the year changed — those pages show applications opening in July, which is wrong for this cycle.
