Best Colleges in Dinajpur — the Class XI Admission List

The commonest confusion about Dinajpur is a naming one. The Dinajpur Education Board and Dinajpur district are not the same thing — the board is made up of eight northern districts, including Rangpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Thakurgaon, Lalmonirhat and Gaibandha.
So people searching for “Dinajpur board colleges” end up looking at institutions that are actually in another district, hours away. A college’s name does not tell you which district it is in, and for the question of a daily commute the district is the single most important fact.
The second feature is how the district is distributed. A large share of Dinajpur’s roster sits at upazila level — Birganj, Fulbari, Parbatipur, Birol, Khansama. There are far fewer established institutions inside the town, and the whole district’s demand concentrates on those few.
The list — best colleges in Dinajpur

| Dinajpur K. B. M. College | An established name in the town, under less pressure than the government colleges. | Central online application · EIIN 120816 |

How to use this list
Before adding a college, check its district and upazila. The Dinajpur board’s area is vast and a name tells you nothing about location — a good-sounding one can be three districts away, from where a daily journey is impossible.
If you are coming from a distant district, look specifically at institutions with residential provision. Travel across the northern districts slows in winter and the daylight is short — a distance that feels tolerable in summer becomes a daily burden in December and January.
Do not write off the upazila government colleges. There are many of them on the district roster, plenty run all three streams, and the advantage of studying close to home is not a small one across two years.

The 2026-27 admission policy was published on 24 August 2026, and applications open on 2 September 2026. A warning: many websites are still republishing last year's (2025-26) schedule as "2026-27" with only the year changed — those pages show applications opening in July, which is wrong for this cycle. Check the original notice on xiclassadmission.gov.bd before you apply.
Frequently asked questions
No. The board covers eight northern districts — Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchagarh, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Gaibandha and Rangpur. It carries the district’s name but covers far more ground.
The central portal lets you filter by district and upazila when searching, and shows each college’s location alongside it. Matching on the EIIN removes any chance of error.
There are institutions with residential provision, but places are limited and separately applied for. Ask at admission time — asking later usually means there is nothing left.
The syllabus, the examination and the certificate are identical — the board exam is the same for everyone. Teaching and facilities can differ, but that varies by institution rather than by town versus upazila. Attending regularly close to home beats attending irregularly far away.
