Three — Mymensingh, Feni and Joypurhat Girls’ Cadet Colleges. The other nine of the country’s twelve are for boys. Mymensingh was the first, in 1982.

Can you join here in Class XI?

You cannot. As at every cadet college, admission is only into Class VII, and those cadets continue to Class XII. There is no route in after SSC.

There are no Class XI seats or GPA here, because a cadet college does not run that admission. Entry is at Class VII, and that batch moves up to Class XII.

⚠️ There is a disagreement about when the first cadets started — the college’s own page says 29 March 1983, Wikipedia says 19 March 1983. This page keeps the college’s own date, but records the discrepancy.

About Mymensingh Girls’ Cadet College

It grew out of the inheritance of the Residential Model School (RMS), and its first principal was Capt (Retd) Karim Uddin Ahmad. The college colour is olive green, and 1 June is kept as its Raising Day.

Of the country’s twelve cadet colleges, three are for girls — Mymensingh, Feni and Joypurhat — and Mymensingh was the first. Residential military-style education for girls in Bangladesh began with this institution; the other two opened in 2006, some twenty-four years later.

Can you join Mymensingh Girls’ Cadet College in Class XI?

The short answer is no. A cadet college recruits only into Class VII, and those cadets carry on to Class XII — so the Class XI places are already filled. How students actually get into Mymensingh Girls’ Cadet College

Entry to Mymensingh Girls’ Cadet College is at Class VII, through a single national entrance examination rather than an application to one college. The form is at cadetcollegeadmission.army.mil.bd, and the order of preferred cadet colleges is given there.

Selection runs in stages — a written examination first, then a viva for those who pass, and a medical examination. Each stage must be cleared separately; failing one ends the process there.
