One direct consequence is that the question of accommodation arrives earlier here than in other cities. For many applicants, applying to Rajshahi means deciding to live away from home, and that decision is entangled with the choice of college — the ones with residential provision carry extra weight on a list.
The third feature is the number of colleges for women. The Rajshahi district roster carries markedly more women’s colleges than most districts in the country, in the city and in the upazilas alike. For girls that is a genuine abundance of options, and it is not something every city offers.

How to use this list
If you are applying from a northern district, settle the accommodation question before you order the list. Relatives, a college hostel or a mess — if you do not know which of the three is realistic, the problem surfaces only after admission, when there is almost no room left to change college.
Girls have more options in Rajshahi, and the way to use that abundance is to vary the list — put one or two less-contested names alongside the city’s main government women’s college. Filling a list entirely with colleges at one level leaves nothing to fall back on.
The district roster also holds many upazila colleges. Keeping a good one from your own upazila low on the list is sensible: if the city does not work out, it is a certain way to carry on studying close to home.

The 2026-27 admission policy was published on 24 August 2026, and applications open on 2 September 2026. A warning: many websites are still republishing last year's (2025-26) schedule as "2026-27" with only the year changed — those pages show applications opening in July, which is wrong for this cycle. Check the original notice on xiclassadmission.gov.bd before you apply.
