Rajshahi Cadet College admission circular 2026-27 — where it stands
Cadet colleges do not admit at Class XI, so this page carries no cut-off — that is not missing information but the institution’s actual structure.
⚠️ Sources disagree on the founding year: some give 1964 and others 1966. Its first principal, Wg Cdr (Retd) Mohammad Syed, PAF, took charge on 1 November 1965. Rather than guess at one year, the disagreement is recorded here.
About Rajshahi Cadet College
The college has been renamed three times, and the country’s history is caught in those changes. It began as Ayub Cadet College, became Muktarpur Cadet College during the Liberation War, and is now Rajshahi Cadet College.
Its motto is in Arabic — "Rabbi Zidni Ilma" (My Lord, increase me in knowledge). It is the only Arabic motto among Bangladesh’s cadet colleges; the rest are in English. Its three houses are Khalid bin Walid, Mohammad bin Qasim and Tariq bin Ziyad. The college’s own history records Cadet S. A. Momin as the first cadet from any cadet college to be martyred, and names three recipients of the Bir Bikram.

Can you join Rajshahi Cadet College in Class XI?
The short answer is no. A cadet college recruits only into Class VII, and those cadets carry on to Class XII — so the Class XI places are already filled. There is no route in from outside after SSC, and no cadet college appears in the central Class XI roster (we checked all 5,134 institutions across 9 general boards and 66 districts on 2 September 2026 — not one is there).
| What people search for | The actual answer |
|---|---|
| Minimum GPA for Class XI | প্রযোজ্য নয় — একাদশে ভর্তি নেই / Not applicable — there is no Class XI intake |
| Any route in after SSC | নেই / None |
| The class it does admit into | ৭ম শ্রেণি / Class VII |
How students actually get into Rajshahi Cadet College
Entry to Rajshahi Cadet College is at Class VII, through a single national entrance examination rather than an application to one college. The form is at cadetcollegeadmission.army.mil.bd, and the order of preferred cadet colleges is given there.
Selection runs in stages — a written examination first, then a viva for those who pass, and a medical examination. Each stage must be cleared separately; failing one ends the process there.
The application is made once for all cadet colleges together, not to any single one. Which college a selected candidate goes to is settled by the result and by preference.
Since 2003 every cadet college has taught the English version of the national curriculum, so after admission the textbooks are the national ones, taught in English.

Frequently asked questions
No — admission is only at Class VII. For anyone thinking about Class XI, the colleges in Rajshahi city that take part in the central application are the real options.
Its first name, Ayub Cadet College, was that of the then ruler; during the Liberation War it became Muktarpur Cadet College, after the place it stands in; later it became Rajshahi Cadet College. The changes track shifts in the political order.
"Rabbi Zidni Ilma" is an Arabic supplication — "My Lord, increase me in knowledge". The other cadet colleges in Bangladesh have English mottoes, so this one is the exception.
Not in the city — the campus is at Moktarpur in Sardah, Charghat upazila (Rajshahi-6271). A cadet college is residential, so distance from the city does not raise a question of daily travel.
