This stage screens a very large pool, so speed and accuracy matter more than depth. A candidate who knows the material but cannot finish in time ends up close, on the result sheet, to one who did not know it.

The shape of the paper

Questions come in parallel from the four subjects and the time allotted per question is very small. Bangla and English lean on grammar, mathematics on short calculations, and general knowledge on direct factual recall. No part asks for extended explanation.

How to split the time

1. Scan the whole paper before starting.
2. Begin with your strongest subject — it builds confidence.
3. Leave the longer calculations for the end.
4. Do not stand still on a question that has stuck.
5. Keep the last few minutes to check the answer sheet.

The practice that helps most

Solving questions at leisure and finishing a full paper against a clock are not the same thing. Sit a complete model test under timed conditions at least twice a week, and each time write down where the minutes went. Within a few weeks the picture of your own pace becomes clear, and where you need more drilling becomes obvious.

Keep an error notebook

After each model test, copy the questions you got wrong into a separate notebook with a one-line reason for the error. In the final week, going through that notebook beats rereading the books, because it holds precisely the places where you lose marks.
