Primary Teacher Recruitment Viva Preparation

At this viva the board is looking for something the written paper cannot show — whether a candidate can talk patiently with small children. The questions therefore sound simple while their purpose is something else.
The questions that come
- Your background and why you chose this profession.
- Simple questions from the primary-level textbooks.
- General facts about your district and locality.
- How you would explain something to a child — a small applied task.
- National days and basic general knowledge.
Look through the primary textbooks
Turning through the class 1–5 Bangla, English and mathematics books before the viva pays remarkably well. Boards often ask straight out of them — a line of a rhyme, the meaning of an English word, a simple sum. A candidate who has looked answers at once, and that immediacy is what reads to a board as preparation.
Documents and presence
Keep every original certificate, mark sheet, national ID, citizenship certificate, quota document and admit card in one file in order, with a photocopy of each. Arrive at least half an hour early — a candidate who turns up late has created a negative impression before the viva begins.
What the board is actually watching
Whether the answer is right is not the only thing at stake. The board notices whether the candidate speaks clearly, listens to the question patiently, and admits an error without fuss. Those are the behaviours the classroom will require, and they are what the board is really looking for.
The date, venue and document list are published in the recruitment notice; confirm from there.
