Four subjects, one multiple-choice stage — how to divide the time.

Teacher Registration Preliminary Preparation

The preliminary is a screening stage rather than a test of depth. Many questions have to be answered in little time, so preparation should aim at speed and accuracy rather than at going deep.

The character of the four subjects

SubjectKind of preparation
BanglaGrammar rules and literature lists
EnglishGrammar drilled area by area
MathematicsChapter-wise solving as habit
General knowledgeA little, regularly

Where time returns the most

Bangla grammar and English grammar return the most, because both are rule-based and a rule once mastered serves every exam you sit. General knowledge is bottomless, so a daily trickle works better than long sittings.

Managing the clock in the hall

  1. Clear your strongest subject first.
  2. If a question sticks, move on at once.
  3. Get through everything once, then return to what you left.
  4. Do not leave filling the answer sheet to the last minutes.

The most common mistake

Most candidates give general knowledge the most time, because it feels endless. In fact extra hours there return little, and meanwhile the dependable marks in mathematics and grammar slip away. Time should be allocated by reliability, not by attraction.

The number of questions, the time limit and the pass mark are set in the NTRCA circular — check the current one.
