From reading to writing — the year the child writes their own sentence.

Class 3 Bangla Book

বাংলায় পড়তে চাও? দেখো: তৃতীয় শ্রেণির বাংলা বই

In class 3 the book’s job changes: until now the child was reading, and now they are asked to write — in their own words, their own sentences. Reading and writing are separate skills, and the second begins here.

Why writing is a separate skill

While reading, the words are in front of you; while writing you must produce them yourself, spelling and all. So a child who reads fluently often stalls at first when writing — that is normal, not weakness. At this stage letting the writing continue matters more than catching spelling, because stopping to correct loses the sentence.

NCTB publishes one PDF for both versions of this subject, so there is a single link here.

How to help at home

  • Do not stop for spelling while writing — review at the end.
  • After a story, ask for two sentences about it.
  • Read their writing back to them; children enjoy hearing it.
  • One or two sentences a day is enough.

Science and BGS start this year too

Class 3 is the first year with subjects beyond Bangla, English and mathematics, and they are read in Bangla. So Bangla reading is no longer only about the Bangla subject — doing well in science and BGS depends on it. Time spent on Bangla reading this year repays itself across the other subjects.
