Current Economic Affairs for the Bank Viva

বাংলায় পড়তে চাও? দেখো: ব্যাংক ভাইভার জন্য চলতি অর্থনৈতিক প্রসঙ্গ

On current affairs a board is not checking facts but outlook. How a candidate looks at an economic event, and whether they can hold two sides of it, is the real question.

The topics to follow

  • Inflation and the current stance of monetary policy.
  • Remittances and the reserves discussion.
  • The export sector and its diversification.
  • Non-performing loans and the reform debate.
  • Digital payments and financial inclusion.
  • The budget and the revenue picture.

A way to keep notes

Keep three lines per topic — what is happening, why, and what follows from it. There is no need to note figures; they move, and quoting a wrong one is worse than quoting none. Hold the direction and the cause instead — that is what a board wants to hear.

A frame for stating a view

  1. State the issue in one sentence.
  2. Give the argument on one side.
  3. Acknowledge the other side.
  4. State your own position, with the reason.

What to avoid

Resist the pull to quote a figure, especially one you have not checked against a recent source. Someone on that board knows it well, and getting it wrong takes the credibility of the rest of your answer with it. Equally, avoid taking a politically extreme position — on an economic question, economic reasoning is enough.

Economic indicators and policy positions are updated regularly; verify the latest from Bangladesh Bank and the relevant official sites.
