The numbers behind the GPA — where to get them and how to read them.

SSC 2026 Marksheet

On result day most students look at the GPA and stop. The real information is in the subject-wise marksheet — what you scored in each subject, where a weakness remains, and that weakness bears directly on choosing a group in class XI.

Where to get it

SourceWhat it gives

How to read it

Beside each subject the marksheet carries a grade and a grade point. The grade point is the number the GPA is computed from; the grade is its letter form. The fourth subject’s grade point is treated by a separate rule and does not simply join the average. Where a subject has a practical, the theory and practical are combined into one grade.

How it informs your group choice

The decision about which group to take in class XI should be made from the subject marks, not the GPA. If mathematics and science were weak, going into the science group and struggling for two years is a worse choice than following the subjects you actually did well in. The marksheet turns that decision from a guess into evidence.

Keeping and using it

  • Download it and keep it in a permanent folder.
  • Keep one printed copy in a file — admission needs it.
  • Check the name and date of birth against your certificates.
  • Report any discrepancy to the board through your institution promptly.

The process and documents required are set by board instruction; check your own board’s announcement.
