Class 9-10 Bangla 2nd Paper Book
বাংলায় পড়তে চাও? দেখো: নবম-দশম শ্রেণির বাংলা ২য় পত্র বই
The Bangla 2nd Paper book is really two books in one cover — grammar, which is rules, and composition, which is writing. They need opposite methods, yet many students read both the same way.
Two halves, two demands
| Half | What it teaches | How to read it |
|---|---|---|
| Grammar | Sounds, words, parts of speech, sentences, vocabulary | Learn the rule, apply it to unfamiliar words |
| Composition | Idea expansion, précis, letters, reports, essays | Read a model, then write your own |

Both the grammar and the composition halves are in this one book.
NCTB publishes one PDF for both versions of this subject, so there is a single link here.
The chapters that repay most
Sandhi, samas, karak and roots-and-affixes are rule-based, so once mastered they serve not only SSC but every job exam afterwards. Idioms and one-word substitutes are list-based and have to be accumulated a little at a time. Reading both kinds the same way wastes time on both.
What the composition half requires
- Read one model of each form, then write one yourself.
- Show what you wrote to a teacher — your own errors are hard to see.
- Memorise the formats of a letter and a report separately.
- Spelling and punctuation cost marks — keep a list of your own errors.
Frequently asked questions
Give grammar the early time, because a rule once mastered stays. Composition is practice, so run it in small amounts all year.
Memorise the format, not the text. The topic changes in the exam; the format of a letter or a report does not.
The grammar half helps a great deal — the Bangla section of nearly every government job exam comes from these chapters.
