Answer: False / Not Given depending on the text. Words like “all”, “always” and “proved” are usually too strong. If the passage says coffee “may improve memory in some people”, the statement is False (it overstates). If the passage never mentions memory, it is Not Given.
IELTS Academic Reading
Academic Reading uses three long passages of increasing difficulty, taken from books, journals, magazines and newspapers — the kind of texts you meet at university. All 40 questions must be answered in 60 minutes.
The higher-level questions (matching headings, Yes/No/Not Given, summary completion) reward students who can identify paraphrase — the passage rarely repeats the exact words in the question.
Read the first and last sentences of the paragraph for its main idea, then choose the heading that captures the whole paragraph — not just one detail mentioned in it. Eliminate headings that are too narrow or too broad.
