Dialogue About a School Picnic

Model dialogue between two students planning a class picnic.

Two students settle the place, cost, timing and arrangements for a class picnic.

A dialogue between Tania and Farhana

Tania: Farhana, our class picnic has been fixed for the twentieth. Are you coming?

Farhana: I would like to. Where has it been decided?

Tania: Mainamati. It is about two hours by bus, and there is space for us to sit.

Farhana: Who is arranging everything?

Tania: A committee of six. Three for food, two for transport, and Miss Rehana is coming with us.

Farhana: What will it cost?

Tania: Six hundred taka each, which covers the bus, breakfast and lunch.

Farhana: That is reasonable. What time do we leave?

Tania: The bus goes from the college gate at seven sharp. We should be back by eight in the evening.

Farhana: Is there anything besides eating and sitting about?

Tania: A cultural hour after lunch, and games in the afternoon — musical chairs and a tug of war between the sections.

Farhana: Then I am certainly coming. What should I bring?

Tania: A cap, water, and money for the ticket if you want to see the museum.

Farhana: Noted. Whom do I pay, and by when?

Tania: Give it to Ruma by Thursday. She is keeping the list.
