How to write it
- Say what students are already making, and where their work has been shown. A fair is worth holding when there is something to exhibit.
- Give the practical requirements: space, tables, electricity points, and dates for both the fair and the deadline for entries.
- Propose how the exhibits would be judged and by whom.
- Suggest inviting guardians or a neighbouring school if that strengthens the case.

Subject: Application for permission to hold a school science fair.

With due respect, we the members of the science club beg to state that eleven working projects have been completed by students of classes VIII to X since the club was formed, including a rainwater filter, a model of a solar dryer and a simple seismograph. Two of these were shown at the upazila fair in February, but the school itself has never held a fair of its own.
We therefore request permission to hold a science fair on Thursday, 20 November, in the school hall and the adjoining veranda. We would need about twenty tables, four electricity points and the hall from the previous afternoon for setting up. Entries would close on 5 November, and we propose that three teachers of the science department act as judges, with prizes for the three best exhibits in the junior and senior sections. We should also like to invite the guardians and a group of students from the neighbouring girls' school to visit in the afternoon.
We, therefore, pray and hope that you would be kind enough to grant us permission to hold a science fair and oblige thereby.
